That Dot founder Melissa McClements offers a rare combination of editorial and commercial writing expertise.

A former journalist, she has written for Financial Times Weekend, The Guardian, The Observer, The Daily Telegraph, The Herald and Scotland on Sunday.

In terms of copywriting she has worked for numerous household brands, including the BBC, Budweiser, Bupa, Coca Cola, Danone, Disney, IKEA, InterContinental Hotels, Kempinski Hotels, Marks & Spencer and Vichy Laboratoires. She has also undertaken writing work for charities such as Action for Children, Macmillan Cancer Support and Help the Aged (now Age UK).

For over a decade Melissa has also provided writing training to staff in the press offices and marketing departments of leading brands – like Channel 4, BMI Baby, Lloyds TSB and Talk Talk. She has also trained teams in writing skills at London’s top communications agencies, including Freuds, Havas, Hill & Knowlton, Ogilvy, Porter Novelli, 3 Monkeys and Weber Shandwick.
