That Dot has worked with environmental group Sacred Earth since November 2017. The initial brief was to provide content and communications for a new gardening product made with the eco-friendly charcoal known as ‘biochar’. In practice, our brief subsequently expanded to overseeing the entire project. We’ve taken responsibility for distribution and logistics; market research; brand positioning and strapline; packaging; writing pack copy; writing web copy; writing a weekly blog; looking after social media and managing sales to independent retail outlets.
We also put together and executed a launch PR campaign – which received coverage in Country Living, Amateur Gardening, Sussex Life and Permaculture magazines. The linked blogger outreach campaign has so far seen link ups with bloggers like Mark’s Veg Plot, Two Thirsty Gardeners, Growing Family, Urban Turnip and The Kitchen Garden.
That Dot also wrote the (successful!) funding application for a major biochar research project to take place on Sacred Earth’s beautiful Sussex site, in conjunction with Coventry University’s agroecology department.
